It Is Finished: The Love That Gave Everything

John 19:30
“When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished.’ And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”

On the cross, Jesus spoke one of the most profound phrases: “It is finished.” It was not defeat; it was victory. With those words, He declared that everything had been accomplished: the price had been paid, the debt had been canceled, and access to God had been opened.

Many times, we live trying to make up for our mistakes, carrying guilt, or thinking that we are not enough. But the cross reminds us of something essential: Christ has already done what we could never do.

Today is a day to pause and look at the cross with grateful hearts.
To give thanks because we were loved even though we did not deserve it.
To give thanks because we were forgiven even though we could never repay it.
To give thanks because, even in our weakness, He chose to give Himself for us.

Good Friday reveals not only Christ’s sacrifice but also the depth of God’s love. And when we understand that, our natural response is not guilt… it is gratitude.

Lord Jesus,
thank You because on the cross You completed everything for me.
Thank You for loving me, forgiving me, and never giving up on me.
Forgive me for sometimes living as though I had to earn Your love.
Today I want to thank You from the bottom of my heart and learn to live in Your grace.
Amen.
